ORIGINAL QUESTIONNAIRE TEXT:

We need opinions on:

1.	Aliases should not be case sensitive. (they currently are)
Mail addresses are not case sensitive. Why are aliases? Stuart.Lynne should
be the same as stuart.lynne when entered as an alias.

	[___]	Agree (case insensitive)
	[___]	Disagree (case sensitive)
	[___]	No preference
	Comments:

2. Could we add another special char to allow direct saving to mailbox
files in ~/Mail. (mailbox directory, not Mail hard coded). [i.e.,
instead of Elm asking you to verify the save-to "mailbox" name, just
automatically assume that name and save]

	[___]	Agree (add command)
	[___]	Disagree (do not add command)
	[___]	No preference
	Comments:

3. I still find myself going back to SCO's mail (that's mailx or Mail to you
bub) an awful lot. The reason is that I review my "sentmail" folders
once a month, clean them up and archive them. Generally this consists
of two actions -- deleteing the dozens of dinky test messages I mail out
every month, and replacing huge shar archives I mail to somebody with a
note something like:

	{{{ deleted shar archive of foobar V2.3 }}}

The problem is that the Elm "e" command is truly an edit mailbox command.
What I would like to do is just edit that one message, and the standard
mail reader does this very nicely. Using Elm to do this is extremely
awkward.

Am I alone in this ... or is this feature something others might find
helpful in a future Elm release?

	[___]	Agree (useful)
	[___]	Disagree (not useful)
	[___]	No preference
	Comments:

RESPONDENT SUMMARY AND OPINIONS:

This summary describes the preferences noted by the respondents. Each
breakdown is scaled by percent and number of respondents. The
percents are calculated against the total number of respondents which
validates statistically those that expressed no choice.

TOTAL NUMBER OF SURVEYS ADMINISTERED...........	82
TOTAL NUMBER OF RESPONDENTS FOR THIS SUMMARY...	56
			    PERCENT RESPONSE...	68.29%

   ===RESULTS FOR QUESTION #1===

			Percent  (n)
			------------
	Agree		 78.57%  (44)
	Disagree	 14.29%  ( 8)
	No preference	  7.14%  ( 4)
			-------  ----
			100.00%   56

   ===RESULTS FOR QUESTION #2===

			Percent  (n)
			------------
	Agree		 33.93%  (19)
	Disagree	 26.79%  (15)
	No preference	 35.71%  (20)
			-------  ----
			 96.43%   54

   ===RESULTS FOR QUESTION #3===

			Percent  (n)
			------------
	Agree		 64.29%  (36)
	Disagree	 10.71%  ( 6)
	No preference	 23.21%  (13)
			-------  ----
			 98.21%   55

   ===OPINIONS===

1.	It is clear that the strong majority of respondents believe
	that aliases should not be case sensitive.

2.	The user base is wildly split on the idea of adding an
	additional command to save directly to a mailbox.

3.	The user base appears to agree that the ability to edit a
	single message in the mailfile is a useful addition.

Be aware that the respondent choices are by no means globally
accepted. Many of those specifying agreement also included comments
that indicated that they were unsatisfied with their answer, or with
the possibilities or danger it may provide. Conclusions must be
derived from both respondent summaries as well as open ended comments
provided.

--------------------------------------------------------------------
Conclusions:
1. I have added making aliases case insensitive to the enhancement
list.

2. I have added an edit message command to the enhancement list.

3. We will leave the saving command as is.
