I have a simple solution for the .signature inclusion problem, which I have implemented for myself. Simply specify no remotesignature, and not localsignature. Then tell your editor to include the .signature file of your choice. I do this routinely, and it is no big deal. It gives me complete control of the contents of my message, with only a little extra work.
