They are prone to problems, and require some work on your part to use them properly. As a site that runs smail 3.1, I can say that although it is getting better (now at patch 17 or so), it still has some problems). To get a copy, one needs to join the beta or alpha groups of the smail development effort, run out of amdahl. I do not recommend that everyone go out and join, as you can really mess up your mail when things go wrong, and not only your mail, but everyone elses also. (I am told that there are major revisions coming to smail 3.1) When it is ready for release, it will be posted to the news groups as all other software. As for Elm 2.3dev, Again, this is the development version of Elm, and not yet released (will be called Elm 2.3 when it is, the dev means development). This version also has bugs and can have features that are only trial discussion features and also changes rapidly (although less rapidly than Elm 2.2dev did). Again, to get a copy, you need to join the Elm Development group, by sending me a message asking to join, then you will be told how to pick up 2.3dev on your long distance bill, so remember it requires a committment on your part to join. -- ===================================================================== Sydney S.
