We, the Local Area Network (LAN) group at Tektronix Inc., are looking for a Software/Hardware Engineer. The qualified candidate will be a member of a four person team. Major responsibilities include incorporating networking protocols into 4.2bsd UNIX and evaluating their performance. The job will also involve evaluating Front-end Processor based networking versus Kernel based networking. The candidate is expected to be a MSCS/EE with 2 to 5 years of experience in the field of Operating system and/or Networking software design. The knowledge of internals of 4.2bsd UNIX will be a plus. Other competencies required for the job include broad knowledge of UNIX utilities, good familiarity with "C", experience in managing complex software projects and good documentation skills. Some experience in the field of hardware system design will be highly desirable.
