[comp.mail.elm] filter problem on DECStation 3100 with Ultrix 3.1

sendmail replys that I can't send mail to a program when trying
to use filter in my .forward file the following way:

"| /usr/local/bin/filter -o /usr/users/pete/.elm/filter-errors"

Any clues?  Or will this not work on Ultrix?
