All positions are in our Walnut Creek, Ca plant. Kernel Experts: We currently have 2 positions for Engineers with experience in UNIX Kernel Internals and Berkeley's UNIX enhancements. The work involves development, enhancement and support of UNIX Versions 7, 4.1 BSD & 4.2 BSD with an emphasis on performance improvement and reliability. Our first opening is for a Senior Engineer with a BS/CS (or equivalent), 2+ years of UNIX Internals experience and 5+ years of software experience. Our second opening is for an Engineer with a BS/CS (or equivalent), 1+ years of UNIX Internals experience and 2+ years of software experience. Software Engineers: Two software engineers are needed on the development of an rules-based automatic test program generator. The project will develop a system to automatically generate test programs for the Zehntel in-circuit testers. One position is for a senior software engineer with a BS/CS or an MS/CS and 4+ years of experience. The other is a more junior position requiring a BS/CS and 2-4 years of experience. Hardware/software engineer: A software engineer with a BS, hardware experience and 2+ years in the trenches is required to develop software for our in-circuit testers. This position offers the opportunity to work on a large C/UNIX based application effort which deals with electronic devices and their properties. Our tester system is dual processor (68000/8086) based and runs UNIX from a hard disk. Hardware Engineer: The automatic program generator team has an additional opening for a hardware engineer to tell us how to test components. The position requires the ability to analyze circuits (analog and digital) and create algorithms (or heuristics) for testing components. The position is that of a senior engineer with a BS/EE or MS/EE with 4-6+ years of experience. In-circuit test experience is a plus as is familiarity with software. The ability to write programs in C is be desirable, but not mandatory. Development Environment: Development is done in Zehntel's development environment which consists of 2 VAX 750's, an 11/70, and various 68000 and Z8000 UNIX systems all tied together with Ethernet. Home terminals and 1200 baud modems are available to any Zehntel software engineer who wants them (loaned unfortunately). Location: Zehntel is located in Walnut Creek, Ca. a short drive from San Francisco, from the Silcon Valley, and from wine country (Napa and Sonoma).
