In elm 2.3, patch level 4, keying an @ as part of a domain based address at the To (mail to) prompt, deletes the characters typed and places the cursor at the first column of the line. This same thing occurs when you Edit the To: line under Edit Headings. I was previously at Elm 2.3, patch level 1, and I did not experience this problem, but I cannot be absolutely certain that I keyed in an @ on the To: line. -- ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Doug Walker uunet!fdls!dougw -or- dougw@fdls.odag.or.gov Oregon Department of Agriculture, Salem, Oregon (503) 378-3790

Uh, I came across that problem earlier and it wasn't due to elm, rather it was due to the default setting of the "kill" character. What are you using, sys V? I thought so.... put a line in your .profile to say: stty kill '^u' and that should do it. (use carret-u not ctrl-u) If that doesn't work, mail me a reply and let me know how you are invoking elm (using a user agent or from a shell prompt). Also, if you type a backslash ( \ ) before the "@" character, that should also work. Ray -- Ray Schafer schafer@peyote.cactus.org Austin, Texas ..cs.utexas.edu!peyote!micrtk!micro
