[comp.mail.elm] Elm sig's

bertsch@hpuxa.ircc.ohio-state.edu (Stephen C. Bertsch) (07/14/90)

Awhile back I posted a query about how elm knows the difference between
local & remote, in order to choose either local or remote signatures.
Well, after much trial and error, I figured it out (I think).

Here it is: If the address in the 'To:' field contains an @ or a !, elm
assumes it to be an IP or UUCP address, and therefore remote. Anything
else, such as #,$,%,. or & still comes out local.

If I am missing something, let me know.
