Awhile back I posted a query about how elm knows the difference between local & remote, in order to choose either local or remote signatures. Well, after much trial and error, I figured it out (I think). Here it is: If the address in the 'To:' field contains an @ or a !, elm assumes it to be an IP or UUCP address, and therefore remote.
