Previously I wrote: >I guess the subject says it all... essentially, I'd like to be able to >use the aliases I have setup for myself in elm when mailing articles or >just mail while in nn. I received one reply (enclosed). I am cross posting this to comp.mail.elm to stir up a few more minds... I tried the solution below... it still does not provide all of nn's builtin mailing functionality... nn lets you edit the outgoing mail whereas the solution below just shoots the mail out without giving you that option. Thanks to David Lesher for his suggestion below. By the way, is there a variable in nn that evaluates to the subject of the current article? I could then perhaps say: | -s"%S" <elm-alias> to have the outgoing mail automatically get the article's subject. On the elm end... is there a way to have elm require confirmation before mailing out piped data? That could fix this situation. Here's how I do it. [from my init] map show | ( :set default-save-file |elm\ save-full input :set default-save-file ~/tempf/Mail/ ) As per Kim. Then, when I want to mail something to a friend I just go: | jb and nn puts in the elm call. Or you can say | -sGood_news jb to have a subject.... If you just want to RUN elm from within nn, just bang out. -- A host is a host from coast to coast.....wb8foz@mthvax.cs.miami.edu & no one will talk to a host that's close............(305) 255-RTFM Unless the host (that isn't close)......................pob 570-335 is busy, hung or dead....................................33257-0335 ======================================================================== -- iNDRA | indra@amd.com or {ames apple uunet}!amd!indra | (Indra Singhal) (408) 749-5445; Advanced Micro Devices | MS 167; Box 3453; 901, Thompson Pl., Sunnyvale, CA 94088
