Must have thorough understanding of computer architecture. Good interpersonal skills and in depth knowledge of "C" and FORTRAN (66 and 77), with some Pascal experience. General knowledge of graphics and networking fundamentals and demonstrated communication skills. Duties: Responsible for software support and training of student programmers. Supervises, trains, and assigns projects to new programmers. Installs and maintains UNIX (possibly ULTRIX), and device drivers for peripherals. Debugs and changes operating system. Develops programming tools such as subroutine libraries and enduser programs for accessing data bases.
