[comp.mail.elm] Compliments to the ELM development group

das@trac2000.ueci.com (David Snyder) (11/12/90)

I really must tip my hat to Syd Weinstein and the rest of the ELM development
group. I follow this group regularly and I'm always impressed with the response
time to questions. No matter how big or small, simple or complex a question,
an answer always follows (maybe not the answer we want, but none the less..).
A perfect example is a glitch in PL7 for elm2.3 was fixed with PL8 and released
only a day or two later.

I can honestly say, we get better service for ELM through the net, than we
do over the phone from most of our vendors (and you know what they charge!).

We sometimes forget to say thank you, and I applaud your taking the time to do
so, and I want to add my own appreciation of ELM and its developers.

Jean-Pierre,

You are right, we do forget to thank those that have been
working behind the scenes for us. I think ELM is the
best Unix environment mailer I have seen. I wish I had
the time to contribute to enhancing it.

Thanks again, one-of-many

And I'd like to echo *both* of J-P's sentiments!

Ditto.

In my recent posting about problems with patch7, I didn't mean to slam
Syd or Elm. I hadn't tried patch8, yet, so I didn't know that it corrected
patch7 problems, and I didn't want someone else to have to try to back
out patch7 like I did. I understand now that patch8 corrected the
problems. Thanks!

The sentence you quoted from me had three phrases, anchored around the verbs
"forget", "applaud", and "want".

Which two comprise the "*both*" of your message?
