[comp.mail.elm] Elm"ing" over SMTP to X.400 ?

dhuber@aut.autelca.ascom.ch (Daniel Huber) (12/02/90)

Ok, the Subject line looks funny, but that's what I want...

Is it possible to send Mail with ELM2.3 over a SMTP connection
to a host which understands X.400 ?

Daniel

ELM is just a user interface that hands the messages off to some
other program for the actual transport. You should certainly
be able to hand off to the SMTP transport as long as it
understands RFC822 headers. The remaining question is how
the X.400 host handles the gateway functions.
