[comp.mail.elm] compiling elm on AIX

I have been trying to configure/compile ELM on an AIX system.
The problem I can't solve is this:
      elm looks in /usr/mail/<username> for mail but sendmail/bellmail
      puts mail in $HOME/.newmail

Can I compile ELM to look where sendmail puts the mail or put mail where
ELM looks?

What version is this? I just rebuilt 2.3 (patch level 8, of course,
since 9 just arrived. foo) on 2 systems, and I know configure asked
where the spooled mail goes. Have you rerun Configure?
