[comp.mail.elm] elm to reply in rrn ?

Upon replying to an article I'd like to use elm instead of Rnmail. Problem
is, however, that this article is not local on this machine but served via
nntpd (thus elm -f %A fails). Has somebody hacked a new Rnmail for this
purpose or is willing to share a workaround ?
The expected behaviour should be similiar to 
cat %A | elm -s "Re: %s" %t
