We are currently having this problem at our site as well. We
are running Elm V2.3 PL9 on a Sun 4/490 with SunOS 4.1.

I'm currently looking at the problem, but as of yet, have found nothing
significant. However, it seems that elm has a problem dealing with
long header files (I can send a copy of a bad message if need be, it's
like yours: long header, etc) and the subsequently long bodies.

If I find anything interesting, I'll post. Will also be looking
for advice from others.

I've seen this here at Convex also. It looks like PL11 fixes that
problem. PL10 might, but with the alias problems it had, I'm not sure.
I've been running PL11 for about a week and testing it on every mail
message that I have been able to get my hands on. Especially the
"broke" varity. I have not seen the problem with PL11. The problems
are easily replicated with PL9!

I recommend going from PL8 to PL11, do not pass GO, do not collect
$200, and PASS PL9 and PL10!

Does this group concur?
