Hi, we are running elm 2.3 patchlevel 8 here, and I have some questions about the aliasing. I have an alias "tome", which is defined as the following: tome = Jimmy Page = tome Yes, he is a user on my own machine. When I use this alias, I was getting the message "Couldn't expand system tome" at the bottom of the screen, but it worked okay. Now, today, after trying to set an alias for a mailing list (also on this machine) like this: zeppelin = Led Zeppelin Mailing List = zeppelin This didn't work at all, when I tried it out elm would say To: ??? rather than zeppelin, and so I tried this: zeppelin = Led Zeppelin Mailing List = zeppelin@ux.acs.umn.edu Which did the exact same thing, and now the tome alias does this also. Is there anything I can do about this? Anything that can be done about this? I have several aliases that are similar to this, in that the alais name and the delivery name are the same. It works fine here, and always has. I think you have a good mystery to start to track down. -- ===================================================================== Sydney S. Weinstein, CDP, CCP Elm Coordinator Datacomp Systems, Inc. (Normally one can only alias aroun 251 aliases, depending on the machine. And I had once a Problem with too long aliases to expand... I backed up my aliases.hash file, ran the right newalias (creating a new aliases.hash) and it works fine now. (though it still says "Couldn't expand system tome" when I use that and other local aliases).
