I've run into problems installing ELM on two Sys V R 3 systems, a
Stardent and an SGI 4D/25. It works fine for some users, but for others
an attempt to invoke elm aborts with the message "cannot create lock
file, need write permission on /usr/mail/" (I may not have the exact
wording). The permissions are all OK so far as I can tell, elm is suig,
and the problem only affects some users.
On Monday I'll recompile ELM with the debug option activvated and see
what I can learn, but given the fact that this has happened twice,
perhaps someone else has run into it?
