We've just moved our central mail server onto a dedicated machine. Whereas before users could change their own preferred address, we've now put it out of reach of them. I would like to let users change their address without having to contact support staff and without having to give everyone login access to the mail server. How do people currently handle this problem? Has anybody got any software available that would do the job? The hardware we're using is a dozen or so VMS Vaxes and an ULTRIX Dec 5830. The mail server is currently running on an Ultrix uVax II, though this should be upgrading to an Dec 5500 in the near future. I'm considering some secure utility that would perhaps send a message to a system username on the mail server. This would then extract the username and the preferred address, and modify the mail table accordingly. I'd be most grateful for any software or ideas as I don't want to re-invent the wheel. Many thanks, Chris Cook - Postmaster, Cardiff
