POSITION: Electrical Engineer
The Ontario Science Centre has recently received a special Lottario
grant for the purpose of "exhibit renewal". Under the terms of this
grant, the Centre will be producing a number of new exhibits, and
therefore will require additional (temporary) staff. The position
described below is being funded by the Lottario grant and will
terminate no later than 31st March 1987. Other (temporary) positions
may arise as the individual projects are more clearly defined.
SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
- Lead development of new exhibits on electrical phonomena.
- Design and develop, in collaboration with existing electronic
technical staff, devices to provide desired effects in a wide
range of technical exhibits.
- Consult with electronic, computer and electrical groups to
provide technical expertise aimed at improving the operation
of various Centre Programs.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Graduation from recognized school of engineering, eligible for
registration as professional engineer.
- Knowledge of various areas of electrical, electronic and computer
engineering gained from significant years experience involving
both hands-on and theoretical development work.
- Must be able to communicate well with other non-technical members
of the development team.
SALARY RANGE:
$31,296 - $36,607 per annum

POSITION: Electronic Technologist
The Ontario Science Centre has recently received a special Lottario
grant for the purpose of "exhibit renewal". Under the terms of this
grant, the Centre will be producing a number of new exhibits, and
therefore will require additional (temporary) staff. The position
described below is being funded by the Lottario grant and will
terminate no later than 31st March 1987. Other (temporary) positions
may arise as the individual projects are more clearly defined.
SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
Required by the Ontario Science Centre to design, develop and
fabricate electronic circuitry for exhibit use.
This position will be part of the exhibit development group and you
will work with other professionals from various disciplines to
produce conceptual exhibit components.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Recent graduation from a recognized school of technology or community
college with training in electronics and electrical technology.
Several years of work experience involving both theoretical and
practical application of microprocessors, control circuits and
instrumentation. Ability to work independently, and communicate
effectively, particularly with people from other technical
disciplines.
SALARY RANGE:
$486.80 - $518.80 per week
