Elmers, I have an alias request. I would like to see the capability of putting a folder into an alias. For example, I would like to set up an alias for a project that would mail a certain group of people and send a copy automatically to a folder =project, with an alias entry similar to this: project-folder = Project Folder = =project project = Project Alias = person1, person2, person3, project-folder ---- OR ----- project = Project Alias = person1, person2, person3, =project I have no idea how hard this would be. It would also be nice if having a folder in the alias would turn off the standard conditionally save by name feature. Just a thought, Don -- Don Mullins Convex Computer Corporation Richardson, Texas USA INTERNET: mullins@convex.COM -- UUCP: {uiucuxc, uunet, sun, ...}!convex!mullins

It occurred to me, after reading this, that while Elm can't do this it is possible using SMAIL and/or Deliver and/or Filter. That is, if you define a mailbox (call it ProjectX) on your system using a SMAIL alias, you can then have a filter rule that says to save all message to that user into /myhome/maildir/ProjectX which just happens to be the same as =ProjectX. While this seems a bit kludgy, it only requires that you include an Smail or Sendmail alias for each project you want to save into and include that alias as one of the members of the group alias in your aliases.text file. At least it'll work, even if you don't think it's elegant. -- +----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ : Steven List @ Transact Software, Inc. :^>~ : : Chairman, Unify User Group of Northern California : : itkin@Transact.COM :
