UNIX* DEVELOPMENT POSITIONS AT AMDAHL CORP.
Amdahl Corporation, developer of the "UTS" version of UNIX for
the System/370 architecture, has the following development
positions immediately available in Sunnyvale, California:
OPERATING SYSTEM DEVELOPER--Design, implement, test, and maintain
portions of the UTS base system, including the kernel, device
drivers, compilers, and system utilities. Experience in porting
UNIX System V and familiarity with mainframe environments are
desirable.
NETWORK SOFTWARE DEVELOPER--Define and implement imaginative
approaches to UTS networking requirements. Some of the projects
that are currently in a research status: X.25, Ethernet, UNIX-
based Front-End Processors. Experience with IBM mainframe-based
communications products is desirable.
OPERATING SYSTEM SUPPORT--Provide technical leadership for the
support of the UTS product. Design and implement test suites and
debugging tools. Participate in planning for quality assurance
and configuration management requirements. Assist the Field
Engineering force with debugging and correction of high severity
system problems.
All three positions are for senior development professionals who
can define and control, as well as participate in, complex
operating system projects. Significant relevant experience is
required: 8 to 10+ years of UNIX and/or IBM mainframe operating
system development, with concentrations on compilers, device
drivers, networking software, and/or testing and maintenance
methodologies. Excellent verbal and written communications
skills are required.
