I am a new (very new) user of elm. I am attempting to use elm in place of mailx but have run into an immediate snag. When I attempt to reply to mail or to initiate mail, elm appears to work just fine, but the mail only has the header when it arrives at its destination. I have this occurr when mailing to myself as well as to others at other locations. I use vi to compose the messages and exit vi either with cap zz or with :wq. Both result in the same eventual problem. I have done no customization or configuration of elm (to the best of my knowledge). Any suggestions would be appreciated. bob

With so little information its hard to answer this one. You don't mention which Elm you are using (USENET Elm or HP Elm) and what version and patch level. Nor do you mention what machine/os/MTA being used. Most likely, the problem is not with the editor interface. It probably is with how you configured Elm to work with the MTA. I'd look at the mailer configuration within config.sh/config.h and be sure that is correct for your system. Most likely the MTA is not taking the file as its input. -- ===================================================================== Sydney S. Weinstein, CDP, CCP Elm Coordinator Datacomp Systems, Inc.
