[comp.mail.elm] moving messages

milt@mem.pe-nelson.com (Milt Ratcliff) (06/19/91)

I have a number of folders with a over a hundred messages. At this point it
requires a fair amount of time to change to one of these folders.

I don't want to delete the messages but I would like to have the 'older' messages
moved to another folder. For example, I have a folder 'sun-support' used
to hold communications with Sun support. It has, naturally, become very
full :-). For this and others I would like an automatic way to move messages
to another folder, for example, sun-support.OLD.

Does elm have a way to accomplish this? I haven't seen one but have missed
other useful features in the past. If elm does not support this type of
capability, is there other software which does? Is this the sort of capability
that could be added to elm???

Thanks,

Milt

I am not sure what you mean by automatic, but...
There is always tagging the relavant messages and then using the
save command to save all of the tagged messages.

Elm does not have the ability to tag messages by age, nor do decide
on its own to do this.
