CIT-Alcatel, located in Reston, Virginia just outside of Washington DC,
has an immediate opening within its Information Systems department for
a systems engineer to help support three large UNIX systems, communi-
cations equipment, etc.
Candidates should have most of the following qualifications:
o A thorough understanding of the relationships and interactions
between applications software, operating system software,
hardware, and communications systems
o Ability to diagnose and correct "systems" problems, working
with other professionals as necessary
o Experience with UNIX & C (pref. more than one version)
o Ability and inclination to understand and support the needs of
a very diverse user community
o Strong oral and written communications skills.
CIT-Alcatel is a US subsidiary of France's Alcatel-Thompson, which
is the world's largest supplier of digital central office switching
systems. The Info. Systems department provides computing services
for all other departments of the company, from product engineering
through business development.
