[net.jobs] Thinking Machines, Cambridge, MA -- systems programmer

bruce@godot.UUCP (Bruce Nemnich) (10/11/84)

Thinking Machines Corporation in Cambridge, MA, needs a systems
programmer. Basically, we need someone to keep the computing facilities
running smoothly, put out whatever fires erupt, and write whatever
utilities are needed to make things easier for both hackers and
administrative types.

The facilities currently consist of 15 Symbolics 3600s, 2 LMI Lambda
2+2s, a VAX11/750 running 4.2bsd, various lsi-11s used as terminal
concentrators, a VALID circuit design system, and a QMS 1200
laserprinter. At this time, all serious programming is done on the
lispmachines; the vax is used primarily for text editing using emacs,
document preparation using TeX, and communication with each other and
the rest of the world via UUCP. We will soon be on the ARPANET.

We really need someone with both Unix and lispmachine experience. PDP11
helpful, too. If you're interested, send a resume to
