CAE Software Engineer ITT - Telecom, Raleigh, NC Position: CAE Software Engineer Responsibilities: Responsible for the design, coding, testing, documentation, and maintenance of software tools. Must work from specifications to produce functional software packages. Performs modification and/or integration of purchased or imported tools. Participates in tool evaluations. Performs user interface software development. Minimum requirements: B.S. in CS with engineering emphasis, EE, or mathematics with CS emphasis. 0-2 years experience in the design and development of software for scientific and/or engineering applications utilizing high level programming languages. Experience with engineering simulation and graphics software, the UNIX operating system, workstations, and/or CAE tool development for IC design is highly desirable. Sound knowledge of high level programming languages (C, Pascal, FORTRAN), data structures, software systems and software development methodologies is required. Familiarity with the IC and/or PBA design process is desirable. Facilities: The CAE Support Group is responsible for supporting the tools used by the LSI Design Center, and other hardware groups within ITT - Telecom's Network Systems Division. The current facilities include 2 VAX-11/780's running VMS (shared with other users), and two dedicated Valid CAE workstations (three CRT's total) running 4.2BSD UNIX. Near term plans include acquiring a VAX 8600, and approximately 10-15 additional Valid workstations connected by Ethernet to support a new project.
