COMPUTER NETWORKING Los Alamos National Laboratory has several career opportunities for Computer Scientists in the area of computer networking. Los Alamos has one of the world's largest scientific computing centers serving more than 7,000 users. The Los Alamos Integrated Computing Network (ICN) connects user terminals, workstations, minicomputers, supercomputers, large mass store systems, output devices, and external public and private networks. Openings exist for highly qualified individuals in the computer networking group. These individuals would design and develop network control and data communications software. Specific areas include: network gateways, local area networks, high speed packet switching, terminal concentrators, secure communications. Demonstrated professional experience in computer networking or operating systems is required. These positions are for individuals who are able to work and communicate effectively. A M.S./B.S. in Computer Science or an equivalent combination of education and work experience is required.
