Keywords: Neuroscience (Vision, learning & memory) Mathematical models Cognition Perception Artificial Intelligence Parallel processing Job wanted: Postdoc at UC San Diego Institute for Cognitive Science seeks industrial or academic position in basic research. I am currently working on mathematical models of perceptual and cognitive processing by neural-like networks. My research interests effectively boil down to solving the question: What fundamental principles underly the brain's ability to store and process information? My interests overlap with the fields of applied mathematics, neuroscience, cognitive science, and artificial intelligence. I am particularly interested in situations that have achieved (or at least desire) strong interaction between these disciplines. An academic position is most desireable, but interesting industrial jobs, particularly those involved with innovative concepts in computer technology (5th, 6th ... ? generation) will be seriously considered. My training is in physics and mathematical models and I have postdoctoral experience working with neuroscientists and cognitive scientists.
