Submitted-by: Bill Randle <billr@saab.CNA.TEK.COM> Posting-number: Volume 8, Info 3 Archive-name: v8i3 This is just a reminder that when attemping to retrieve files from 'saab' you must specify the *complete* file name that you are trying to transfer. Wild cards are not allowed. Also, since most files are compressed you must add a ".Z" extension on the filename as well. For example to retrieve Patch4a to NetHack3 you would do something like: uucp saab!/usr/spool/ftp/games-archive/NetHack3/Patch4a.Z myhackdir Requesting .../Patch4* will *not* work, nor will .../Patch4a. If I see a failed uucp request, I try and contact you when possible, but if your host is not in the uucp maps, I can't get through (e.g. banger1!brady). [The only files that are not compressed are: Index, compress.shr, NetHack3/ndmake45.arc and NetHack3/termcap.arc.] -Bill Randle Moderator, comp.sources.games Tektronix, Inc. games@saab.CNA.TEK.COM
