This is probably not the correct newsgroup to post this to, but here goes anyway. I recently tried to record a song from a record to a tape using a friend's stereo. There were a couple of problems with this: - the "s" sounds were scratchy sometimes. Is this, as I think, just a problem with his turntable, or is this a general problem? - the tape sounds fine when played back on the stereo, but the pitch is off when I play it on my walkman. It sounds to me that my walkman is playing the tape at a slightly faster speed than the stereo. Has this happened to anyone else? What can be done about this lack of portability? As you can tell from the above, I know little about stereo systems. It's not that I don't play a lot of music, I do. But up to now, I have almost always played them from prerecorded cassettes. However, I would now like to record some cassettes myself, and I am seriously thinking about buying a good stereo in the near future. Is there a source that would serve as a good introduction to the ins & outs of stereos? Kinman Tam kinman@utai.UUCP
