Applications Engineer
An immediate opening exists for an Applicatins Engineer in the
OEM Technical Support Group. The major focus of this group is
to provide in depth technical support for Digital's OEM customers.
The specific opening is in the Semiconductor Support area and
will be providing technical assistance for semiconductor products.
The Semiconductor support group is located in Hudson Mass. along
with the semiconductor design and manufacturing groups. The
current group consists of one manager and two application engineers.
The successful candidate will provide both hardware and software
consultation to customrs on semiconductor products such as
microprocessors, floating point units, peripheral interface chips,
video controller chips, and bus interface chips.
Actual circuit designs will be developed and debugged by the
Application Engineer, and will then be used as the base for
application notes and demos. Other responsibilities include
development and checking of data sheets, seminars, and technical
product training for the OEM sales force.
Candidates must have a BSEE or equivalent and experience in
the design of microprocessor based systems. Knowledge of various
bus architectures such as VMEbus*, Multibus II*, UNIBUS, and
Q-bus is essential. Software knowledge should include at least
one high level language (such as Pascal, FORTRAN or C) and one
Assembly language. Working knowledge of VAX/VMS and the VAX
architecture is a plus.
