Bell Laboratories' Information Management Systems Department in Columbus, 
Ohio has an opening in network development for an experienced software 
engineer interested in building a large distributed multivendor product 
mixing UNIX and IBM systems.  
 
We are a team of people implementing a LAN-based distributed system, aimed 
at providing a highly reliable and transparent environment to users of 
distributed workstations, servers, and mainframe databases.  Key elements 
of the job include design and implementation of application protocols and
development and testing of softare providing emulation interfaces to SNA
application to application protocols, remote process management, and network 
monitoring and reconfiguration.  

The candidate should have extensive IBM SNA experience, as well as experience
with a wide range of IBM mainframe applications (CICS, IMS, TSO).  Knowledge
of MVS internals and/or TCP/IP protocols is highly desirable.  Knowledge of
UNIX and C language is a plus.  Candidate should also have a MS degree or 
equivalent in CS or EE.
