The Automated Systems Business Unit of the John Fluke Manufacturing has a need for a top notch design engineer to contribute to the development of the next generation of functional tester. We are located in a campus like setting about 30 miles North of Seattle. A brief description of the position and required skills are summarized below. Box C9090 Everett, Wa. 98206 DESIGN / SENIOR DESIGN ENGINEER SPECIFIC DUTIES Assume major responsibility for specification and hardware design for a future family of automated test equipment. Conceptual design of hardware architecture and circuitry. Cooperation and collaboration with software engineering, manufacturing, etc. Initial duties will also include some support and sustaining engineering of the existing product line. JOB SKILLS REQUIRED High speed digital design experience, including microprocessor circuitry. Some analog experience is highly desirable. Ability to deal with problems like drive requirements and noise. An understanding of the difference between demonstrating feasibility with a prototype and of designing hardware to be manufactured is required, as is knowledge of theory and practice of testing and diagnosis. Ability to make hardware / software trade-offs. Project management experience is highly desirable. Some software experience with languages like C and operating systems like Unix is desirable. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE BSEE and at least 5 years experience or equivalent. MSEE strongly preferred.
