I guess it has to do with the number of people applying to get the
"Green Card" as well with the process that you get through.Also, the
location where you apply for the Green Card makes the difference.
I would imagine places like CA, TX, or NY would be quite tough to
get quickly since there are quotas and large demand. Also, I am not
sure but the INS has some quota from each country, so countries with
lots of prospective Green Carders (for example, Indians or Taiwanese)
would have lots of queue time, while Lichnesteinians (sp?) or other
similar <ethnics> would not wait much. But I may be wrong.
And the type of temporary work permit also matters much!
