References: Distribution: The MITRE Corporation in McLean, VA needs CS/EE's for CAD/CAE tools development, VLSI circuit design, and UNIX system support. We also have openings for developers and systems engineers in the areas of computer communications protocols and local area networks, and for a researcher in distributed processing. Applicants should be US citizens with at least a bachelor's degree in CS or EE; entry level persons will be considered. For software applicants, knowledge of the C language and Unix operation and internals is highly desirable. Our Unix systems range from a network of SUN Workstations with 4.2 BSD, through a BBN C-70 with Bell Version 7 and a PDP-1170 with 2.9 BSD, to centrally supported VAX 750 and VAX-8600 running Ultrix. For hardware and software applicants, knowledge of Lisp and/or experience with CAD tools, especially public domain VLSI software such as Caesar, Lyra, RNL, Magic, and SLang, would be a plus. We have an additional opening for a distributed processing researcher with a minimum of a Master's degree in Computer Science. Applicants for this position should have a strong background in communications protocols, operating systems and programming languages. MITRE is a non-profit Federal Contract Research Center.
