Relational Technology, Inc is a rapidly expanding, innovative software

INGRES, RTI's principal product, is viewed as the leading independently
produced, high-performance, relational DBMS. It provides a complete set of
application development and end-user tools. INGRES is supported on many
computers including Vaxes, IBM mainframes, and many Unix systems. Our

UNIX PORTING
Port INGRES to new Unix environments. Work involves transporting code,
debugging, testing, tuning, supporting, and enhancing. Development of
software tools to improve the process. At least 2 years of system
programming, C, and Unix experience required. BSCS or equivalent
required.
CONFIGURATION MANAGEMENT
Manage source code configuration on multiple machines and operating
systems. Use tools to accept changes, build testable versions, resolve
problems, and make releases. At least 2 years of technical experience
required. High school diploma and at least 2 years of quantitative college
study required.
RELEASED PRODUCT MAINTENANCE
Maintain INGRES products for a variety of computer systems. Develop and
use product maintenance tools to analyze and correct system defects. BSCS
and software development/maintenance experience required. Experience with
C and the VMS, Unix, or VM/CMS operating system is required.
QUALITY ASSURANCE
Develop test specifications, test suites, and participate throughout the
development process to insure high quality releases. The work is done on
various Vax/VMS, Unix, and VM/CMS systems. At least 2 years of applied
software quality assurance experience and a BSCS or equivalent is required.
USER INTERFACE DEVELOPMENT
Design, develop, and improve user interface products built on top of INGRES
DBMS. At least 3 years of user interface software development experience
and a BSCS required. Experience with DBMS, C, VMS, VM/CMS, or Unix a plus.
TECHNICAL SUPPORT
Support, train, and consult INGRES end-users and OEMs in a variety of
hardware environments. Application programming and documentation also
done. At least 3 years of application development experience required.
End-user support positions require early morning support of east coast
clients. OEM support position requires Unix experience. Experience in
DBMS and user support highly desirable.
VM/CMS DEVELOPMENT
Port, enhance, and tune INGRES for IBM systems with VM/CMS. Requires
operating system, compiler, or DBMS development experience on IBM systems.
Internal architecture knowledge of VM or MVS plus BSCS or equivalent also
required.
