[comp.protocols.tcp-ip] Info on IP tunnel for SUN 2

SHAPE-TC@ADA20.ISI.EDU (05/21/87)

At SHAPE Technical Centre, The Hague, we are setting up a SUN 2/120
as our Internet host, which will talk to RSRE's gateway via X.25.
To minimize re-invention, I would appreciate hearing directly from
anyone who has experience of creating an IP "tunnel" between SUN IP
and (preferably) Morning Star Technology 1980 X.25. Any other pointers
to similar solutions would be useful.

Thanks in advance. Jon Wilkes, SHAPE Technical Centre, The Hague.
(It's lonely out here in Europe ...)

Jon,

Congratulations on rejoining the Internet. Be advised the Dutch PTT requires
you insert a prefix code to get out of the country. Yes, that means 15
semi-octets, not 14, and is sure to break at least something at either end
of the circuit. It may be even lonelier in Europe than you think.
