All this discussion of SUPDUP makes it look interesting. I have some machines here that can run SUPDUP, but my Unix engine isn't one of them. Does anyone know where I can find a (free, no budget available here) set of SUPDUP code for a Sun BSD Unix box? I'd like to get both a client and a server, but for free, I'll take what I can get. There used to be supdup sources kept on Borax.LCS.MIT.Edu (which was used for tourists, amongst other dubious functions) that was ftp'ble; also bootp servers, the pc/ip sources, argus, and other goodies. The machine is defunct now. However, I'm sure the repository of sources has been backed-up on tape, if not moved to another machine. I'm sure some other people on this list might know what happened to this software. (Rob, Swa, are you out there?) -Philip

There is a supdup TAR file in /pub/supdup.tar available via anonymous FTP from thyme.lcs.mit.edu. We use this implementation fairly regularly, and it seems to work well enough. I believe it was written by David Bridgham at LCS several years ago; I don't know who may have hacked it since then. markl Internet: markl@ptt.lcs.mit.edu Mark L.
