This message is to advise you that there is a revised schedule for PSN
7.0 upgrade on the ARPANET.  Please note that there will be one more
weekend of testing. 



Date:			Event:

9/24/87-		Node group one sites will be upgraded to
9/26/87			PSN 7.0  ACTIVITY COMPLETE

10/1/87-		Node groups two through five will be upgraded 
10/3/87			to PSN 7.0  ACTIVITY COMPLETE

10/17/87		All ARPANET nodes will be running PSN 7.0 with
			the Old End-to-End protocol configured.
			ACTIVITY COMPLETE

10/24			Node group one will be cutover to the 
			New End-to-End; operation will be verified;
			and the nodes will be returned to the Old
			End-to-End.

10/31			The rest of the node groups will be cutover to
			the New End-to-End; operation will be verified;
			and the nodes will be returned to the Old
			End-to-End.

11/7			The entire ARPANET will be cutover to use the 
			New End-to-End protocol; operation will be
			verified; and the nodes will be returned to the
			Old End-to-End.

11/14			The entire ARPANET will be cutover to the 
			New End-to-End protocol; operation will be
			verified; and the New End-to-End protocol
			will be left running.

WARNING:  As with any new network software, there is the potential to
          impact host software.  Should this occur, please call the
	  BBN Hotline (800-492-4992) to report any difficulties.

For those that are interested, there will be a meeting to discuss
ARPANET network problems at the Mitre Wilson Building, 7600 Old
Springhouse Road, McLean, VA on 3 November 1987 from 10:30 - 12:30 in
the 4th Floor Conference Room.
