[comp.protocols.tcp-ip] NFS over ARPANET

MRC@PANDA.COM (Mark Crispin) (12/01/87)

I might note that a certain PDP-10 operating system at MIT had a working NFS
over the ARPANET over 10 (15?) years ago. It was called MLDEV, and supported
all the same operations as the local disk including disk-to-memory mapping.

Someday, perhaps in the 90's, Unix will evolve to the point that we can once
again enjoy the level of functionality we had in the 70's. :-(
