HO HO HO: Santa would like to bring the Internet better performance, but his elves are having a hard time finding the right parts. Three small, lonely, destitute EGP core gateways desperately need your help. Officially declared braindead years ago, these tenacious little guys have stubbornly clung to life. Although the respirator is scheduled to be pulled in about 6 months, you can improve the quality of their (and your!) life for the time remaining to them. Help give them a much needed brain transplant. Loan them your unused, probably unloved, LSI-11/73 CPU boards! Their little brothers and sisters, the mailbridges, would also benefit from this treatment. Won't you help? Please join Mike Petry and Louie Mamakos of U. of Md., the folks at BBN, who have upgraded the EGP core machines on the Arpanet, and CONTEL which has contributed an 11/73 to its local mailbridge. The three Milnet EGP core gateways, and the 6 or so remaining mailbridges need your charity. Won't you be a good Samaritan too? Search your surplus parts bins, locate your old unloved LSI 11-73's, blow the dust off and contact one of Santa's helpers listed below. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * During this holiday season, instead of trying to give a thoughtful gift, give the gift of thought! Send some new brains to these deserving little machines. You'll be helping them, and your Internet response times. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * We thank you for your support.
