Hi, We at the Naval Ocean Systems Center (NOSC) are interested in developing application programs including net protocols on TCP/IP for UNIX on an IBM/AT. Rather than re-invent something that may already exist I thought I would canvas the list to see what others are doing in this environment. We are particularly interested in applications where the AT serves as front-end to some non networking systems. Respond to : neerma at nosc Thanks in advance, Merle Neer. ------- -------

I have ported KA9Q's TCP/IP software to several UNIX machines, an AT clone running Microport System V/AT and a Heurikon 68010 running UniPlus+ 5.0. It currently supports SLIP and KISS on asynchronous lines. I am using it on a packet radio TCP/IP net. I haven't added any support for Ethernet since I do not have the hardware. It is running reliably and supports FTP, SMTP and TELNET. After I finish cleaning up some things and add the revisions from the latest KA9Q release, I will make the sources and binaries available to anyone who is interested in them. I expect that they will eventually show up in the KA9Q distributed sources along with the Macintosh, Amiga and UNIX code that is already in there. I started with Jere Sandidge's (sp?) UNIX PC (68000) port and made some changes so that it would run on an 80286 system. Also fixed a few bugs while I was at it. John A.
