Tom, As I mentioned in an earlier message ACC is actively working the problem. And while we argee with Dave that in cases where the 5250 is being used in a gateway with significant traffic there seems to be virtual circuit resource limitations. Please note that when used in a end-host configuration, which the product was designed for, the 5250 works well. Also it is important to keep in mind that the vc limit is not artifical but has to do with available resources both in the host and the front-end board. ACC is preparing to release a version of the 5250 which will double the number of virtual circuits available. In addition, members of our technical staff off-line from this forum have had a number of conversations with both Dave and technical personnel from BBN concerning PSN 7 deployment. Yes, life is too short to be mad about things; however if you have detailed and constructive criticism we would be happy to discuss it in an OBJECTIVE manner. Gary.

Gary, My comment directed at identifing the problem, not your product. I am glad to hear your comments that the problem is being worked on. I just don't like it when people say that X.25 is trash when the real problem is the configuration a carrier will allow or problems with a vendor's product. Good luck fixing the problem. -- Thomas A.
