The Intel Computer Aided Design (CAD) Department in Santa Clara is looking for talented individuals to work on our latest CAD project, the Engineering Design Environment (EDeN). EDeN is a software environment (i.e., hardware independent) which provides an integrated CAD environment for VLSI design at Intel. CAD GRAPHICS SOFTWARE ENGINEER DESCRIPTION: Person will provide continued development and support for in-house developed terminal-independent Color Graphics System. Development will include incorporation of new graphics terminals into the system as well as exploring new methods for improving system performance. Person will work in a team to migrate current CAD schematics and layout entry/edit system to workstation environment. Team will also be responsible for designing and implementing enhancements to system to improve performance using this new hardware. Interface with engineer/layout designers and provide enhancements as well as improve the user interface of the system. Will provide both user- and developer-level documentation. QUALIFICATIONS: 1-3 years experience in graphics systems. Must have experience in designing and implementing general purpose graphics systems as well as applications using graphics systems. Good verbal and written skills. Programming experience with high level languages (PASCAL, C, MAINSAIL, etc.) is required. A knowledge of many different types of graphics terminals as well as VLSI CAD is highly desirable. BS in EE or CS required. MS preferred.
