Does anyone have any information or pointer to information about a new product called TLI out of AT&T(?) that is supposed to replace tcp/ip on UNIX? E-mail is preferable, but post if of general interest. dewey coffman austin, texas auscso!dewey

It is an program-level interface to the protocol, and is intended as an alternative to the BSD socket library. It is implemented for the AT&T-supported local networks such as TCP/IP, Starlan and Datakit (insert appropriate trademarkings here) as of System V release 3, with a common set of routines for open/close/read/write/etc. The WIN/3B package for TCP/IP on the 3Bx machines provides most of the system calls for SVr2 machines, as well. Hope this clarifies things.
