[comp.protocols.tcp-ip] CDC TCP/IP and CDCnet

Does anyone have an opinion about CDCnet and TCP/IP interface software
support by Control Data Corp.. Here at TRW, we have some CDC Cybers with
CDCnet that could potentially be connected to the rest of the campus
via Ethernet. What kind of TCP services do you get with the CDC package.

Please answer.

CDCnet currently includes a subset of the TCP/IP suite of prorocols.
They consist of ICMP and TELNET for both their NOS and NOS/VE systems.
FTP is also available for the NOS/VE system. In their Spring Release of
CDCnet, they have added FTP for NOS and ARP for both systems. We currently
have both TELNETs and FTP for NOS/VE running on our systems. TELNET we use
fairly regularly, and it appears to work quite well. FTP we tested out when
it was first installed and it worked at that time. I do not know how stable
it is over regular use.
