Any recommendations as to what to use for an Internet domain name server if one doesn't have a VAX Unix machine to use? Our primary mainframe is an IBM 3090 running MVS/XA, but none of the IBM MVS implementations has a domain name server. I believe that the new IBM TCP/IP for VM product has one, but we don't run VM. A domain name server that could run on a PC, either under DOS or some flavor of Unix would be real handy for us. I am sending this to 3 lists, sorry for duplicates that you may receive. Here at the University of Georgia we are setting up a TCP based network. The need for a Domain Nameserver has arisen. I have looked for on which would run on an IBM PC/AT or similiar machine. So far I have not found one. What options are available? The only ones I've found so far are a SUN workstation, a MicroVax running Berkley Unix, or some other small system Running Unix. Currently we do not have an Unix machine in the Computer center. Thank you for your assistance.
