THOUGHTS ON THE DEMISE OF THE ARPANET

The Arpanet is going away,
Hey, nonny, hey, hey, hey,
We'll miss you, boys,
But that's OK.

You need your dollars,
Your hardware too,
To build the network
That's right for you.

So take your IMPS,
Your TACS and spares,
Your long-haul lines,
Your other wares,

Go back to the Pentagon,
Close your doors,
Come up with something
That costs us more.

And when you're finished
Sit back and smile.
Yes, our defenses
Are right in style.

Truly, colonels,
It's good to know
That soc.singles
Has room to grow.
