This is a request for information on the Bootp protocol. As I understand it, this protocol allows a dumb device to be loaded from from a server device. I am particularly interested to know if the protocol works using IP routers, subnets, fragmentation, etc. Also an approximation of the PROM space required to contain enough of this code to boot a device from power-up (i.e. one that doesn't know its own IP address) Please send a pointer to the apropriate information to me directly.
