I'm trying to locate programming information about the 3COM 3c503 and 3c501 ethernet boards for the PC. Doesn anyone have such information? I'm looking for documentation, schematics, programming info, etc. Apparently the 3c503 info is "available" for $1000 from 3COM (gosh, what a wonderful way to get people to want to support your hardware product). Can anyone fill me in on this? As I understand it, the $1000 ($999 actually) is for the 3Com 3L programming library of drivers for all of their boards - forms a common calling interface which is also compatible with NETBIOS and 3+, etc. Needless to say, I didn't come up with the $1000 - if you get past the sales critters there ARE marketing and engineering people at 3Com with the real Engineering reference specs for the hardware that you might get a copy of. I hope someone at 3Com is listening, because not everyone has $1000 to throw at one company when there are so many good competitors out there....
